UP Board Denies Paper Leak Of Class 12 Maths, Biology Exams

According to officials, the question paper was circulated by Vinay Choudhary with the intention of impersonating a specific individual.

UP Board Exam 2024: The UP Board denied allegations of leaks concerning the Class 12 Biology and Mathematics question papers on WhatsApp. UP Board Secretary, Dibyakant Shukla, refuted the claims, stating that according to reports, the question paper was shared on a WhatsApp group named 'All Principles Agra' around 3:10 pm by Vinay Choudhary.

“By then the examination had been conducted in 1 hour and 10 minutes and all the candidates were giving the examination peacefully in their rooms at their respective examination centres, due to which the sanctity of the council examinations has not been affected at any level,” Shukla said in a press release.

Dibyakant Shukla said, "If a paper is circulated on WhatsApp an hour after the exam begins, it cannot be categorised as a 'leak'. Nevertheless, we are actively investigating the matter, and appropriate action will be taken against those found responsible."

Meanwhile, during an inspection of seven examination centers in Prayagraj on Thursday, board officials discovered eight room invigilators without their identity cards, which the center administrator did not provide. Consequently, Shukla stated that five center administrators and eight room invigilators have been relieved of their duties. Additionally, a recommendation has been forwarded to pursue legal action against them.

Notably, the mathematics and biology question papers of the UP Board Class 12 Exam were allegedly shared on a WhatsApp group just an hour after the examinations commenced on Thursday. This incident prompted authorities to file a police complaint. Upon the complaint filed by the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), Agra, Dinesh Kumar, an FIR has been registered in Fatehpur Sikri.

Named in the complaint lodged, are the principal of Atar Singh Inter College, Rajhauli, in Kiraoli in Fatehpur Sikri, along with his son who serves as a computer operator at the institute, and others, as stated in the FIR.

It is alleged that the question papers were posted on the WhatsApp group "All Principals Agra" by the principal's son, it stated.

Talking to PTI, Joint Director of Secondary Education Department and Observer for the exams, Dr Mukesh Agrawal, said, "We have formed a committee after the incident, and accordingly directed the officials concerned to take necessary steps in this regard. Legal action will be taken against those who have done this act." The question papers were shared an hour after the exam began in the second shift, officials said.
