UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar tweeted, ''Release of the Dates for UGC NET June 2023 Cycle: UGC NET is conducted twice every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in June & December every year. This is to inform the prospective applicants that the first UGC NET June 2023 Cycle  will be conducted from 13 to 22 June 2023.''

Meanwhile, Registration for UGC NET December 2022 cycle has begun. The UGC NET December 2022 Exam will be held from February 21 to March 10, 2023. Interested candidates can submit their application forms online on ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The last date to register for the UGC NET December 2022 Exam is January 17, 2023.

What Is the UGC NET Exam?

The UGC-NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode to award Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/ or Eligibility for Assistant Professorship depending on the aggregate performance of the candidate in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC-NET.
