UGC NET December 2024 Registration Begins On ugcnet.nta.ac.in; Steps To Apply

UGC NET December 2024 Registration: Interested candidates can fill the application form on the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the online application process for UGC NET December 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the exam through the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Applicants must ensure that all details, including their email address and mobile number, are accurately filled out in the application form, as these will be used for all exam-related communications. The UGC NET December 2024 will be conducted from January 1 to January 19, 2025 in computer-based test (CBT) mode across 85 subjects. 

According to NTA's eligibility criteria, candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in their master’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university. The minimum marks for candidates belonging to reserved categories are 50%. Eligible subjects include humanities (including languages), social sciences, computer science and applications, and electronic science.

UGC NET December 2024 Registration: Steps To Apply

Candidates can follow the below-given steps to apply for UGC NET exam:

Step 1: Visit the official UGC NET website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, navigate to the 'UGC NET December 2024 Online Application' Link.

Step 3: Now, register yourself by entering your email ID and phone number.

Step 4: Once registered, complete your application form.

Step 5: Enter the required information.

Step 6: After that, upload the necessary documents and pay the required fee.

Step 7: Click on 'Submit'.

Step 8: Download the confirmation page for your future reference

UGC NET Exam Important Dates:

Correction in Application Form: 12 December 2024 to 13 December 2024

Intimation of Exam Cities: To be Intimated Later

Admit Card Download: To be Intimated Later

Exam Dates: 1 January 2025 to 19 January 2025

Duration of Examination: 180 minutes (3 hours)

UGC-NET December 2024 Application Fee

General/Unreserved: Rs. 1,150/-

Gen-EWS / OBC-NCL: Rs. 600/-

SC / ST / PwD: Rs. 325/-

The UGC-NET is a qualifying exam for Indian nationals aiming for the following:

1. Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Appointment as Assistant Professor

2. Appointment as Assistant Professor and Admission to Ph.D.

3. Admission to Ph.D. only

Candidates qualifying under the ‘Appointment as Assistant Professor and Admission to Ph.D.’ category will be eligible for both Assistant Professor roles and Ph.D. admission but will not be awarded the JRF.

Those qualifying under the ‘Admission to Ph.D. only’ category will be eligible solely for Ph.D. admission and not for the JRF or Assistant Professor appointments.
