Two NEET Aspirants Die By Suicide On Same Day In Rajasthan's Kota
Two boys tragically lost their lives on Tuesday in separate incidents of suicide in Kota, Rajasthan.
A 17-year-old student from Uttar Pradesh was found dead at a rented accommodation in Kota late on Tuesday. This incident follows closely after another student was suspected of dying by suicide, bringing the total number of such cases to four within this month alone in Rajasthan's renowned coaching hub. According to the police, the student from Uttar Pradesh had recently arrived in Kota to prepare for the all-India pre-medical entrance test. His body was found by a house help who had gone to serve him dinner.
Tragically, this marks the fifteenth suicide by a student in Kota this year. Equally alarming, the same number of students took their own lives in Kota in 2022. The police reported that no suicide notes were found in both cases.
In the first incident, the student Mehul hailed from Salumbar in the Udaipur district and had been preparing for the NEET exam at a coaching institute in Kota for the past two months, as reported by PTI. He resided in a hostel located in the Vigyan Nagar area.
During the time of the incident, Mehul was alone in his hostel room as his roommate was away for the night. Concerned about his absence from the room for an extended period, Mehul's hostel mates notified the caretaker. After repeated attempts to get a response from Mehul failed, the caretaker decided to break open the door, only to discover Mehul's lifeless body hanging in the room.
Following the incident, the student's body was sent for postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
