State Govt Offered 36,097 Jobs In 18 Months - Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann

AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate School Of Eminence in Amritsar on Wednesday.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has said that the AAP government in Punjab has provided over 36,097 government jobs to youths in the state, during his tenure of 18 months by far. Mann further said the jobs were provided to suitable candidates after screening them purely on the basis of a transparent merit system. The Punjab CM made the statement while addressing a function in which he handed over 249 recruitment letters among newly appointed youth. Among the 249 new appointees, 191 candidates have been recruited in the local government department, 25 in animal husbandry, 24 in cooperation and 9 in technical education.

Speaking on the overseas migration of the youth of the state for job prospects, Mann said that the trend kicked off owing to the poor performances of the previous governments. Leaders of the previous government’s didn’t emphasize enough on creating employment opportunities for youth of the state, therefore, they were forced to flee to countries abroad for job opportunities, Mann said. However, the AAP government in the state has reversed the brain drain by creating several job opportunities for the youngsters of Punjab, he added. A former finance minister kept repeating for nine years that the state’s coffers were empty, Mann said without naming anyone.

"When a finance minister says that the coffers are empty, then it demoralises the youth who feel they will not get opportunities," Mann was reported as saying by news agency PTI. "Did I ever say for the past 18 months that the coffers are empty? Yes, there are leakages that we have plugged. We never say that coffers are empty," he said. He further underlined that the newly recruited youngsters should thrive to aid every section of the society by ensuring optimal public policy welfare. He also noted that the state government will also launch ‘Schools of Eminence’ in the state on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

While the first school shall be dedicated to the people of the state, the state-of-the-art schools act as a further pillar in catering quality education to the students of the state, Mann added. Notably, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate a School of Eminence in Amritsar on Wednesday.
