Students Claim Discrepancies In JEE Main 2025 Answer Key, NTA Responds

NTA has addressed student concerns regarding alleged discrepancies in the JEE Main 2023 Session 2 response sheets and provisional answer key. The final results are likely to be declared on April 17.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has addressed a wave of student concerns over alleged discrepancies in the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 response sheets and provisional answer key. The response comes in the wake of widespread reports from candidates and coaching institutes highlighting several irregularities — including missing answers, incorrectly captured responses, and questionable solutions featured in the provisional answer key released for the April session.

Provisional Answer Keys Not Final: NTA

In a statement on its official X handle (formerly Twitter), the NTA reassured students and stakeholders of its unwavering commitment to a fair and transparent evaluation process. According to the agency, candidates are given access to both their recorded responses and the provisional answer key at the same time—a move aimed at fostering transparency and accountability.

"The NTA treats each objection with utmost seriousness and encourages students to participate in the challenge process to rectify any discrepancies," the agency said.

The NTA made it clear that the provisional answer key is not the final result. Final scores will only be calculated using the verified answer key, which will be released after a comprehensive review of all submitted objections. Until then, students are strongly advised not to rely on unofficial estimates or third-party claims that could lead to unnecessary stress or confusion.

Candidates are advised to consult the official website for details and latest updates https://jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Final Results Expected April 17

The final results for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 are likely to be declared on April 17 on the official NTA portal. Once published, scores based on the final, verified answer key will determine candidates' eligibility and ranking.

Students, particularly those affiliated with reputed coaching institutes, have pointed out specific errors in the April 9 examination paper. Reports suggest that the paper may contain up to nine incorrect answers — including four in Physics, three in Chemistry, and two in Mathematics.

Affected candidates have urged the NTA to either discard the flawed questions during evaluation or award bonus marks to ensure a level playing field.

In addition, some students reported technical issues where their chosen responses were inaccurately recorded in the system — raising further concerns about the evaluation process.

How To Challenge The Answer Key: Step-By-Step Guide

The provisional answer key for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 was released on April 11. Candidates had until April 13 to raise objections. A panel of subject experts is currently evaluating all submitted challenges.
