RBSE Board Exams 2021: The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) on Wednesday postponed exams of Class 10 and Class 12 on the backdrop of second wave of Coronavirus in the state. While making the announcement, the state board also directed that students of Class 8, 9 and 11 will be promoted without examinations.


The announcement by the RBSE came days after it claimed that Board exams and REET will be conducted as per schedule on May 6 and June 20, respectively.

RBSE had already released the schedule for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams.


Earlier in the day, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled Class 10 exams and postponed Class 12 exams soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Union Education Minister over growing demands to cancel the Board exams due to Covid-19 surge across the country.


As per the announcement made by CBSE, results of Class 10 will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the education board. Meanwhile, Class 12 exams will be held later, the situation will be reviewed on 1st June by the CBSE.

CBSE board examinations were earlier scheduled to begin on 4 May and to end on 7 June for class 10 students and 11 June for class 12 students. Results for both classes were expected by July 15.


"Students of Class 10 to be promoted on basis of internal assessment. If a student is not satisfied with the assessment then he/she can appear for the examination once the situation is normal," Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said earlier in the day.
