NEST 2024 Registration Process Expected To Begin Soon On nestexam.in

The NEST Exam is aimed at shortlisting suitable candidates for admissions into 5-year Integrated M.Sc programmes at NISER Bhubaneswar, and the UM–DAE CEBS, Mumbai.

The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, is likely to begin the registration process for the NEST (National Entrance Screening Test) 2024 soon. Once the registration process begins, interested and eligible candidates will be able to submit their registration cum application forms on the official website - nestexam.in. With the commencement of the NEST 2024 application process, the NISER will also release the detailed instructions and official information booklet of the NEST 2024 Exam. Candidates are advised to carefully go through the instruction and official brochure before applying for the NEST 2024 Exam. 

While the NISER is yet to release key details on the NEST 2024 Exam, the overall format and other details concerning the exam are likely to remain unchanged over its previous iteration; NEST 2023 Exam. Similar to last year, the NEST 2024 Exam is also expected to be held in the online CBT (Computer Based Test) mode. The 2023 iteration of the exam was held in two shifts where the first shift was held from 09:00 am to 12:30 pm, and the second shift was held from 02:30 pm to 06:00 pm.

The NEST exam paper ideally consists of questions distributed across four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology where each of these sections carry 50 marks. The final merit list of shortlisted candidates is prepared by considering the best score of each candidate in the top three sections attempted. 

The NEST Exam is a national-level entrance exam for admissions into 5-year Integrated M.Sc programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics at the National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar, and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM–DAE CEBS), Mumbai.

Candidates shortlisted through the NEST Exam for admissions into the integrated M.Sc programmes in the aforementioned streams are also entitled to an annual scholarship of Rs 60,000, under the DISHA program of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. An additional grant of Rs 20,000 is also awarded to these students per annum for summer internships.
