NEET SS 2023: Exam Postponed Due To G20 Summit, Revised Dates To Be Out Soon

Scheduled to be held on September 9 and 10, and coinciding with the G20 Summit 2023, the NEET SS 2023 Exam has been postponed by the NBEMS.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has postponed the NEET SS (Super Speciality) Exam 2023 in the wake of the upcoming G20 Summit which will be held from September 9 to September 10, in the national capital Delhi. “In wake of the 18th G20 Summit scheduled to be held on 9th and 10th September 2023 in India and consequent travel restrictions which shall now be in place in Delhi from 8th September 2023 to 10th September 2023, the conduct of NEET-SS 2023, which was announced to be held on 9th and 10th September 2023 across the country, has been deferred,” the NBE said in an official statement.

Notably, the NEET SS Exam 2023 was scheduled to be held on September 9 and 10, 2023, and the NBEMS was expected to release the NEET SS 2023 Results by September 30, 2023. However, with the postponement of the NEET SS 2023 Exam, the cycle of events is likely to be delayed slightly. The NBEMS is expected to announce the revised dates for NEET SS 2023 soon.

Besides the postponement of the exam, candidates may note that the NBEMS had earlier stated that it won’t be considering Srinagar as an exam centre for safety reasons. However, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), has requested the NBEMS to arrange for a substitute exam centre for students hailing from Srinagar.

Notably, the NEET SS is conducted to shortlist suitable candidates for admissions into super speciality medical programmes like DM/MCh and DrNB, across medical institutions across the country. However, some institutions are not offering admissions into DM/MCh courses through NEET SS for the 2023-24 admission session.
