NEET PG 2024 Counselling Schedule To Be Released On Nov 11, Says Doctors’ Body

NEET PG 2024 counselling is scheduled to begin on November 11, as announced by the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA).

The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) announced that NEET PG counselling for 2024 will commence on November 11, as per the latest update. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to release the full schedule on November 11 on its official website at mcc.nic.in. Expressing disappointment over the prolonged delay in the NEET PG admission process, FORDA stated, “NEET PG 2024 counselling to begin latest by 11th of November. The 4-month delay makes the timeline for #2025 challenging. The vicious cycle continues for the 3rd year straight. Will this ever end?”

Additionally, a plea concerning discrepancies in the NEET PG results and a demand for the release of the answer key will be heard by the Supreme Court on November 19. The plea alleges inconsistencies in the results and raises concerns about last-minute changes in the exam pattern.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for postgraduate courses (NEET PG) was conducted on August 11 after several delays and the results were released on August 23 for more than 216,000 candidates. Concerns regarding discrepancies—such as an unusually high spike in top scores and unexpectedly low marks for candidates in the second shift—led 19 aspirants to petition against the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The petition calls for transparency through the release of the answer key and raw scores.

Dr. Suvrankar Datta, President of FAIMA INDIA and a Senior Resident Radiologist at AIIMS Delhi, shared a letter on social media mentioning that the National Medical Commission (NMC) has authorised the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to assist state counselling authorities in creating state-specific merit lists for NEET PG counselling, exclusively for state quota purposes.

The letter, dated October 26, addressed to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, highlighted challenges faced by several states in awarding state-specific incentive marks to in-service candidates who served in rural or difficult areas.
