NEET MDS 2024 Registration Window Closing Today, Plea To Postpone Exam Pending In SC

Willing to issue a notice on the matter, the Supreme Court has listed the pleas for hearing on February 21, 2024.

The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will close the registration process for the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) MDS (Masters in Dental Studies) Exam 2024, as per the official schedule. The application process will conclude today amid the plea seeking postponement of the exam lies with the Supreme Court. The apex court will hear the plea concerning postponement of the exam on February 21, 2024. 

As per the official schedule, the NEET MDS 2024 Exam is scheduled to be held on March 18, 2024. Following the closing of NEET MDS 2024 Application WIndow, registered candidates will be able to make corrections to their applications from February 22 to 25, 2024. The admit cards for the exam are scheduled to be released on March 13, 2023. 

Notably, following the release of the NEET MDS 2024 exam schedule, several aspirants from across the country requested to postpone the exam. NEET MDS Aspirants have been demanding to postpone the exam to July 2024, and extend the internship cut-off date. However, the NBEMS, and the Ministry of Health are yet to issue a statement on the postponement of the exam.

As per the criteria laid out by the National Medical Commission, NEET MDS aspirants are required to complete their internship by March 31, 2024. However, with this criteria, several students will be ineligible for the exam who will be completing their internships post March 31. 

In the matter, the Supreme Court is also set to hear a bunch of petitions seeking extension of the exam deadline and internship cut-off date. Considering the pleas, the Supreme COurt has decided to issue a notice on the matter, but there seems little signs of relief for aspirants since the apex court noted that “it's only a matter of cut-off date.” The Supreme Court has listed the please for hearing on February 21, 2024.
