Malabar Group, a leading diversified Indian business conglomerate and parent company of Malabar Gold & Diamonds, announced its National Scholarship Programme for 2024 at an event held at the Bharat Diamond Bourse in Mumbai. Inaugurated by Piyush Goyal, Honourable Minister of Commerce & Industry, this initiative highlights the Group's commitment to supporting girls' education. This year, the scholarship programme has allocated Rs 16 crore to benefit over 21,000 girl students across India.

MP Ahammed, Chairman of Malabar Group, emphasized the transformative power of education, stating, “Our scholarship programme reflects Malabar Group’s belief that education unlocks opportunities and transforms lives. We aim to remove barriers for young girls so they can fulfill their educational aspirations and contribute meaningfully to society.”

Since its inception, Malabar Group has shown a strong commitment to inclusive growth through its social welfare activities. Established in 1999, the Malabar Charitable Trust (MCT) structures and expands these efforts, allocating 5% of its profits to CSR initiatives in education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and poverty alleviation, with a focus on empowering marginalized communities. The Malabar National Scholarship Programme, launched in 2007, has invested over Rs 60 crore, providing financial assistance to more than 95,000 girl students across India, uplifting individuals and communities alike.

In addition to the scholarship program, the Malabar Group runs the Hunger-Free World Project, which delivers nutritious meals to underprivileged individuals nationwide. With the support of volunteers and local NGOs, the initiative distributes 50,000 food packets daily in 80 cities across 16 states in India and supplies 10,000 packets daily to school students in Zambia. The Group aims to scale this project to serve 100,000 people daily at 200 centers, collaborating with the Thanal organization, which focuses on social service.
