Lucknow School Timings Revised Amid Cold Wave

In the wake of an increasing cold wave, the Lucknow District Administration has revised school timings in the district. Schools in Lucknow will now operate from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM from January 2.

The Lucknow district administration has revised the timings of schools in the district amid dropping mercury levels across North India. As per the revised timing, schools in Lucknow district will now operate from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM for classes 1 to 8. The revised schedule will be implemented in all private and government schools in the Lucknow district from today, December 2, 2023. Arun Kumar, District Basic Education Officer, in an official letter to Lucknow Schools, announced the revised school schedule.

The District Basic Education Officer has called upon all schools in the Lucknow District to sincerely implement the revised timings and adhere to the official order. The decision pertaining to the change in school timings was made following the District Magistrate’s approval to the order. Schools, parents/guardians, and students can check the official order online on lucknow.nic.in.

Earlier on December 21, Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar ordered schools to operate from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM from December 21 to December 31, 2022, in view of the intensifying cold wave across the northern states of the country.

Recently, school timings in several other parts of UP as well as Delhi were changed in lieu of the chilling winter season. School timings in Ghaziabad were recently revised from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM. Similarly, the Delhi Directorate of Education announced closure of all government schools for 12 days from January 1 to 12, 2023, for winter vacations. The Delhi state education boat announced that only remedial class for classes 9 to 12 will be available from January 2 to 14, 2023.
