The Department of Primary and Secondary Education revealed that they are planning to re-open all schools from July 2020.
Reportedly, the matter was being discussed for the last two days and considering the Covid-19 situation the schools will be reopened.
The tentative plan is to start classes for Standard 4 to 7 from July 1, then classes for standard 1 to 3 and standard 8 to 10 will begin from July 15 in Karnataka. Nursery and Pre-primary classes will be started on July 20.
As of now, this is just a proposal and is open for feedback. Parents' suggestions will be taken by schools which will be further sent to the state government before finalising any decision. If the guardians do not agree to the dates stated, they'd be asked to give alternative suggestions. A survey will be conducted where they can provide their feedback.
All the staff and principles will have to join back from June 5 so that the process for new admissions can begin from June 8.
The circular also states that suitable precautionary measures like adopting social distancing norms will be taken in. For this, classes can be split in different timings so that crowding can be avoided.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs' guidelines, the educational institutions will be opened in July as part of 'Unlock 3' after discussions with states and union territories by reviewing the Coronavirus situation in the country.
