The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a government organisation in India responsible for the recruitment of personnel for various positions within the ministries and departments of the Government of India, as well as in subordinate offices.


The SSC operates as an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). It is composed of a chairman, two members, and a secretary-cum-controller of examinations.
