SI Paper Leak: Former RPSC Member Arrested For Providing Exam Paper To His children

Former RPSC member Ramuram Raika was arrested by SOG for allegedly leaking the sub-inspector recruitment exam paper to his children.

Jaipur: Former Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) member Ramuram Raika has been arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police in connection with the sub-inspector recruitment exam paper leak, news agency PTI quoted an official as saying.

On Sunday, the SOG arrested Raika's son and daughter, along with three other trainees, for their alleged involvement in the paper leak and securing positions in the exam. The arrest of the former RPSC member took place late on Sunday, following evidence that he had provided the leaked sub-inspector recruitment exam paper to his children, ADG SOG VK Singh informed PTI on Monday.

Raika is set to appear in court on Monday, where the police will seek his remand.

The five arrested individuals were brought before a court on Sunday and have been remanded in police custody until September 7. The arrested trainees include Shobha Raika and her brother Devesh Raima, both of whom are the children of Ramuram Raika. The other three trainees are Manju Devi, Avinash Palsania, and Vijendra Kumar, as stated in the official release.

These five trainees were taken into custody from the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) and were interrogated at the SOG office on Saturday.

So far, three separate chargesheets have been filed against 61 accused individuals in the sub-inspector recruitment exam of 2021. Among them, 33 are trainee sub-inspectors, four are selected candidates who did not join the service, and 24 are associates linked to the paper leak gang.

The SOG is actively searching for 65 other suspects connected to the case.

UP Police Constable Recruitment Answer Key Soon

The UP Police Constable exam answer key will be released soon. The exam conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) was held across 1,174 centers in 67 districts of the state. The exams, which took place on February 17 and 18, were cancelled due to allegations of a paper leak.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced the cancellation of the exams and promised that a re-exam would be conducted within six months.

The re-exam was held over five days—August 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31—across two shifts each day. According to the official statement, out of around 48 lakh candidates, over 32 lakh appeared for the exam. It is believed that due to stringent security measures, more than 16 lakh candidates skipped the exam.
