JAM 2024: IIT Madras Begins Application Process On jam.iitm.ac.in - Here's How To Apply

JAM 2024 Registration: Interested candidates can apply online on jam.iitm.ac.in.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has commenced the online application process for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2024 today, September 5. Interested candidates can submit their applications for JAM 2024 until October 13 through the official website jam.iitm.ac.in. The entrance test is scheduled to take place on February 11, with results expected to be announced on March 22. The test will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for seven papers: Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH).

JAM 2024 will facilitate the filling of approximately 3,000 seats at various IITs and over 2,000 seats at institutions such as IISc, NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, and DIAT.

JAM Scores are utilised for admission into various postgraduate programs in the following disciplines:

  • MSc
  • MSc (Tech)
  • MSc-MTech dual degree
  • MS (Research)
  • Joint MSc-PhD
  • MSc-PhD dual degree

Eligibility:

  • Candidates who hold an undergraduate degree or are in the final year of their undergraduate program are eligible to apply for the JAM 2024 examination.

  • For foreign nationals, possessing an Indian degree is a prerequisite to appear in JAM 2024. However, admission will be subject to the policies of the respective institutions, as clarified by the organizing institute, IIT Madras.

  • There is no age limit for candidates to appear in JAM.

Application Fee:

  • SC, ST, PwD, and female candidates: ₹900 for one paper and ₹1,250 for two papers.
  • For all other candidates: ₹1,800 for one paper and ₹2,500 for two papers.

JAM 2024 Registration: Steps To Apply

To apply for IIT JAM 2024, follow these steps:

  • Visit the official website of IIT JAM at jam.iitm.ac.in.
  • On the homepage, look for and click on the IIT JAM 2024 registration link.
  • Register by providing your personal details and click the submit button.
  • After registration, log in to your account using the provided credentials.
  • Complete the application form by providing the required information and details.
  • Proceed to make the application fee payment through the specified payment method.
  • Once you have filled in the form and made the payment, click on the submit button to submit your application.
  • Download and save a copy of the submitted application form for your records.
  • Keep a printed hard copy of the application form for any future reference or requirements.
