JAM 2024: Official Website Launched, Applications Begin September 5 - See Details

JAM 2024 Applications will begin from September 5, 2023, and the JAM 2024 Exam will be held on February 11, 2024.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) which houses the GATE-JAM office has launched the official website of the JAM 2024 Exam. Candidates gearing up to appear for the JAM 2024 Exam will be able to submit their registration cum application forms online on the official JAM 2024 website - jam.iitm.ac.in. The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) is the conducting institute for JAM 2024, and the institute will start accepting applications for the Joint Admission Test for Masters 2024 (JAM 2024) from September 5, 2023 onwards. 

Besides the official website, the JAM 2024 notification has also been released. As per the official schedule, the JAM 2024 Exam will be held on February 11, 2024. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to register for JAM 2024 from September 5 to October 13, 2023. The JAM 2023 Result is scheduled to be released on March 24, 2024.

Notably, the JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the IITs every year to shortlist suitable candidates for admissions into M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech.), MS (Research), M.Sc. - M. Tech Dual Degree, Joint M.Sc. - Ph.D., and M.Sc. - Ph.D. Dual Degree offered by the IITs. There will be around 3,000 postgraduate seats on offer for suitable candidates through the JAM 2024 Exam. 

The JAM 2024 Exam will be conducted for a total of seven papers and candidates can opt for a maximum of two papers. However, candidates must ensure that the exam for their second paper doesn’t clash with the exam for the first paper. The JAM 2024 application fee for one paper is Rs 900 for Female, SC/ ST/ PwD candidates and Rs 1,900 for all other candidates. Similarly, the application fee for two papers for Female, SC/ ST/ PwD candidates is Rs 1,250, and Rs 2,500 for all other candidates. 

Candidates who have completed their bachelor’s degree in a concerned subject from or those who are currently in the final year of their undergraduate program are eligible to apply for the JAM 2024 Exam. Candidates who clear the JAM  2024 Exam though shall be further able to apply for admissions into their preferred course and institute. However, such candidates must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria of their selected programme of study by the respective institute.
