IIT Delhi To Launch 4-year BDes Program From Next Year, Admission On Basis Of UCEED

IIT Delhi will launch a four-year program on Bachelor of Design from the academic year 2022-23.

From the next academic session, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is going to start a new undergraduate course - Bachelor of Design (BDes). Explaining the new program launched by the Institute, Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi, said, "We are happy to launch this new undergraduate program in design as this is the first time IIT Delhi is admitting undergraduate students (BDes) other than Physics, Chemistry and Maths. We expect students who graduate from IIT Delhi with BDes to gain leadership positions in industry, academic, government, consulting and entrepreneur."
Prof. Rao added, "Bachelor of Design (BDes) programs and other programmes in design, which are in the pipeline of IIT Delhi, will bridge the huge gap between the demand and supply of quality design professionals, which our country needs to excel as a creative economy..
