WATCH | IIT Kharagpur Professor Seen Abusing And Threatening Students In Online Class

In a shocking incident, a video is being circulated where a teacher from IIT Kharagpur is seen threatening the students to fail in exams.

Kharagpur: A series of videos went viral on Instagram where a teacher of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is seen abusing and threatening students during an online class. The video recording was of an online class for the Prep English Course (IITs Preparatory Course for SC/ST and PD Candidates).

In one of the videos, she is also seen threatening students to fail them in the exams. She also challenges the students to complain to the Ministry of Women and Child Care and Ministry of SC/ST/Minorities.

There was yet another video where she is seen humiliating a student who took a leave as his/her grandfather lost his life due to Covid-19. She is seen saying that she is a Hindu and understands that there are rituals to be performed after the death, but as the Covid protocols do not allow any rituals to be performed, there is no cause for the student to have taken leave.

Here are the videos:

The videos were uploaded by the Instagram account of ‘Ambedkar Periyar Phule Study Circle, IIT Bombay. In another statement released by the same page says that this particular incident is ‘not an isolated one’. They have demanded to set up a permanent SC, ST and OBC cell at IIT Kharagpur.

There were many angry reactions by many users on the posts’ comments section. One of the top comment by ‘ayushicaplish’ read: "I am sorry but how did she get apppinted? What did she herself study and how come she decided to become a teacher. Why do you have to waste so much money and time on education to eventually turn out like this. Eduaction failed her. -_-"
