IIT Kanpur Introduces Healthcare And MedTech Innovation Initiatives

This event aimed at presenting the futuristic initiatives of the School and highlighted IIT Kanpur's ambitious initiatives to redefine healthcare and MedTech innovation in India.

Kanpur: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) organised an exclusive event to launch the Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology, along with the Yadupati Singhania Super Specialty Hospital. Held at the Landmark Hotel in Kanpur on March 15, 2024, the gathering showcased the forward-looking ventures of the School, emphasizing IIT Kanpur's visionary efforts to revolutionize healthcare and MedTech innovation in India.

Esteemed dignitaries, industrialists, and medical luminaries from across the state graced the occasion, seizing the opportunity to contribute to the future of healthcare through this collaboration. The synergy between industry and academia promises to integrate technology and innovation with medical sciences, propelling IIT Kanpur into the global arena of excellence. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mr. Atul Kapoor, MD, Regency Hospital; Mr. Neeraj Gupta, Joint MD, MKU Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Raj Kumar Lohia, Chairman, Lohia Group; Mr. Deepak Kothari, Chairman & MD, Kothari Products, and our esteemed alumnus Mr. Gopal Sutwala, among others.

Stressing on the importance of this event, Prof. S. Ganesh, Director of IIT Kanpur, said, "The establishment of the Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology, and the Yadupati Singhania Super Specialty Hospital is a crucial milestone in our journey towards excellence in healthcare and medical innovation. Occasions such as these events provide us with an opportunity to connect with the industry and paving the way for pioneering advancements. The contributions from the industry visionaries of the state embody IIT Kanpur's commitment to excellence, and we are confident that their impact will resonate globally".

 

Mr. A.K. Saraogi, President (CA & CRO) of J.K. Cements, praised the momentous initiative, stating, "The Gangwal School will usher in a revolution in the medical field in the city of Kanpur, akin to the transformative impact IIT had in the engineering domain when it was established in the 1960s. I am extremely delighted to be a part of this visionary project and look forward to many more such initiatives from the Institute."

IIT Kanpur Alumnus, Mr. Gopal Sutwala, said “It is a matter of immense pride for the residents of Kanpur to witness the emergence of such an ambitious and groundbreaking project in our city.
