IIT-Delhi To Launch M. Tech In Artificial Intelligence Next Year — Know More About It

IIT Delhi New Course: IIT Delhi would be starting a new course from next year. Students would now be able to opt for an M. Tech. degree in Artificial Intelligence at IIT Delhi.

New Delhi: Good news for students interested in studying and getting an official degree in Artificial Intelligence (AI). From next year onwards, students would be able to study Masters in Technology (M. Tech) in Artificial Intelligence from IIT-Delhi.

IIT-Delhi is gearing up to be at par with global standards on Artificial Intelligence. The Senate, the committee that does all major educational decision-making at IIT-Delhi, has approved the proposed new curriculum for Artificial Intelligence at IIT-Delhi.

IIT-Delhi To Launch M. Tech In Artificial Intelligence:

This program would be based on Machine Intelligence and Data Science (MINDS). To impart this learning, IIT-Delhi's School of Artificial Intelligence based their M. Tech course on a special curriculum.

IIT-Delhi could begin this course in July 2022. Students who have graduated in Science or Engineering would be eligible to enroll in this M. Tech program. This is the second degree being offered by IIT-Delhi in Artificial Intelligence. They had previously started Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence.

New Artificial Intelligence Course Approved

Professor Mausam, the founding head of the School of Artificial Intelligence (ScAI) in IIT, said, “Our Ph.D. program has garnered a lot of interest in its first year. Last time the success rate of Ph.D. students joining ScAI was 90%. Young academics are the ones most attracted by us. This is exceptional for the unit as young students who generally prefer pre-established academic programs, are choosing us instead."

According to IIT-Delhi, students enrolled in the programme will work on AI problems related to the industry. Prof. V Ram Gopal Rao, Director of IIT-Delhi, said: "educational institutions should work closely with all stakeholders, including industrial institutions, non-profit and government organizations."
