IIM Kashipur To Conduct CAP 2024 For Common Admission To MBA Programmes in 10 IIMs

IIM Kashipur will conduct CAP 2024, facilitating the common admission process for MBA programmes across ten IIMs.

The Common Admission Process (CAP) is an annual event that shortlists and interviews candidates for admission to MBA/PGP programmes at CAP-participating IIMs. Until the previous year, nine IIMs were part of this process. In 2024, with the inclusion of IIM Nagpur, the CAP group has expanded to ten IIMs and IIM Kashipur is the coordinator for CAP 2024. The participating IIMs typically announce tentative cut-offs for Personal Interview (PI) shortlisting in October, with final cut-offs decided after the CAT results are declared. This year, after the CAT results, the following cut-offs were set for shortlisting candidates for the PI process under CAP 2024:

Shortlisting for PI will be based solely on percentile cut-offs. Candidates need to have selected the flagship MBA/PGP programmes at least in one of the CAP-participating IIMs (IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Kashipur, IIM Nagpur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Tiruchirappalli, IIM Udaipur) when filling out the CAT form.

IIM Kashipur will start sending PI shortlist notification emails in the second half of January, and the PI registration portal will open around the same time. All shortlisted candidates must register on the PI portal to participate in the CAP 2024 PI process.

Prof. Abhradeep Maiti (Chairperson Admissions, IIM Kashipur) mentioned that to alleviate the burden on candidates traveling for MBA admission interviews, CAP 2024 PI will be conducted online. Candidates will be allowed to correct any mistakes made while filling the CAT form under educational qualification and work experience categories. Normalized PI scores will be displayed to candidates after merit lists are declared.

Once the Personal Interview process concludes, CAP-participating IIMs will create individual merit lists and commence sending admission offers.
