Goa Implementing NEP 2020 In Foundation Stage For Schools, Phased Manner For Higher Education

Goa CM Pramod Sawant has told the Goa assembly that the state has been implementing academic structure proposed by the NEP 2020 in all non-technical undergraduate programs in Goa.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Kumar Sawant has said that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is being rolled out in the state in the foundation stage (one) of school education in Goa. The National Education Policy for higher education is being implemented in a phased manner as per directives of the Ministry of Education, UGC, NITI Aayog and recommendations of the Chief Secretaries’ Conference held in Dharamshala, Goa Chief Minister Swant was reported as saying by news agency PTI, in the Goa assembly, in response to questions from the opposition on the implementation of NEP 2020. 

In his written response, Sawant, who also holds the education portfolio was further reported as saying that the state has been harnessing the academic structure proposed by the NEP 2020 in all non-technical undergraduate programs in Goa, from the first year (2023) onwards. The implementation of NEP 2020 in Goa in response to questions in the assembly came up during the monsoon session of the Goa assembly which began on Tuesday.
