Free School Admission Under RTE: Online Applications Open From March 25 In Rajasthan

Rajasthan will offer free admissions to nursery and first-grade students in private schools under the RTE Act from March 25 to April 7. Selected students will be determined by lottery.

Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, online applications for free admission to private schools began on March 25 in Rajasthan.

Apply Online By April 7

According to News 18, Rameshwar Jeenagar, CBO of Suwana block, stated that parents must submit their online applications and upload required documents on the RTE portal between March 25 and April 7. A computerised lottery on April 9 will determine the priority order of selected students. Parents must complete online reporting to their designated schools between April 9 and 15.

Document Verification From April 9-21

Selected candidates must report to their respective schools online between April 9 and 15. Private schools will have to verify the submitted documents between April 9 and 21. On April 22, NIC will auto-verify all applications. Parents can also modify or correct previously submitted documents between April 9 and 24. By April 28, private schools will re-examine all applications, and by May 5, CBOs will review any rejected applications.

Admissions Open For Nursery And Grade-1

Applications are open for nursery and first grade. Nursery admissions are for children aged 3 to 4 years, while first-grade applicants should be between 6 and 7 years old as of July 31. The annual family income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh to qualify.

25% Free Seats In Private Schools

Under the RTE Act, private schools must reserve 25% of their entry-level seats for free admissions, with the state government covering the cost.

Mandatory Documents For RTE Admission

To be eligible, applicants must be permanent residents of Rajasthan and have an annual family income below ₹2.5 lakh. The necessary documents include an income certificate, child's birth certificate, domicile certificate, caste certificate, BPL card, mobile number, and a passport-sized photograph. The auto-reporting system will continue this year as well.
