The Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) alleged that its members were overwhelmed by the panic mails from students.
Many students who were trying to log in were unable to do so as they got messages like wrong email ID even though it was the same email address that they had mentioned in their form and earlier received communication from the university, the DUTA said.
Others were not getting the one-time password (OTP) that is needed to get on the website, it added.
DUTA further stated that many of the students who managed to log in successfully found that of the 37 question papers provided, not even a single question paper belonged to their course.
"For example, there was no question paper for Economics (Honours) students. The only economics papers available were for Annual System," the DUTA said.
Many students have continued to protest ever since the online exams were announced with #DUAgainstOnlineExams on Twitter.
"Being a student of B.Com (H) why is the mock test showing me questions of other courses?" a student tweeted.
DU professor Abha Dev Habib also wrote, "Mock OBE, Day 1: Nonstop panic messages from students, DUTA email account is full (and so is email accounts of the Dean and VC). Student just reported: site has crashed!! @DrRPNishank @ugc_india You share the responsibility for the mess! #DUagainstOnlineExams #ScrapOBE."
The mock exams will be conducted till July 8 while the online open-book exams for the final year students will begin from July 10. The online open-book exams continue to be opposed. Calls and messages to Dean (Examinations) Vinay Gupta remained unanswered.
