Schools are reopening from tomorrow in Delhi for classes 9th to 12th and all preparations are being done to keep students safe.

New Delhi: Schools are opening in Delhi from September 1. Currently, schools are being opened for classes 9 to 12. Delhi Disaster Management Authority has also issued guidelines regarding the opening of schools. Prior preparations are also being made in schools.

In order to run classes at 50 per cent capacity, Vidya Bal Bhavan Senior Secondary School in Mayur Vihar has decided to keep a gap of one seatw with stickers of 'Do Not Sit Here' being stick to every alternative seat. Classrooms are also being sanitised and Covid guidelines are also being posted everywhere.

Quarantine Room Set Up In Every School

Separate arrangements have also been made for the students of all four classes and will not be called together on the same day. An isolation room has also been prepared, as per the guidelines of DDMA. School Principal Dr. Satveer Sharma says that even they have prepared SOPs, the reopening of schools is a big challenge.

"We are in favor of inviting only 50% of the children. There is a total of 4 classes in ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth, we will not call all the four classes together at the same. They are also separating it so that there is no crowd and social distancing is maintained,"Sharma said.

Parents Will Definitely Send Their Children- Dr Sharma

Dr. Sharma told that now both online and offline classes will take place. Keeping in view the number of children, further preparations will also be made.

Consent letters have been sent to the parents, although no response has been received as of now, he said hoping that parents will definitely send their children.

"We will also be doing a psychology workshop after understanding the mood of the children. A workshop for parents will also be conducted. We will call 5 parents from each class and will show all our preparations by meeting them. Some parents are wanting to send their children to school, and children are also eagerly wanting to come to school, so we hope that they come," Dr Sharma said.

In view of the medical emergency during the Covid period, a 4-bed isolation room has been made in the school. Oxygen cylinders and oxygen concentrators have been arranged in the room and a nurse will always be present in the room.

If a student feels any kind of symptom, then she/he will be immediately taken to the isolation room and the parents of the child will be informed. An emergency vehicle will be ready every time in the school, in case someone needs to be taken to hospital or home immediately.

Oxygen Cylinders Kept For Emergency

Nishant Sharma, associated with the school management, said that thermal scanning will be done in the isolation room where oxygen concentrators and oxygen cylinders have already been kept.

The number of beds has been increased and separate rooms have been marked. If needed, the number of beds can be increased further. "We have empaneled doctors on the call so that they can be with us in case of emergency and have also tied up with a private hospital for use, Nishant Sharma said.
