Delhi Schools To Reopen For Class 6 And Above From Tomorrow, Announces Govt
Delhi Schools Reopen: Schools in Delhi reopened on November 29 for all classes, however, they were closed again from December 3 due to air pollution levels in the national capital.
Delhi Schools Reopen: Delhi Government on Thursday announced that all schools in the national capital will resume physical classes for students of class 6 onwards from December 18, news agency ANI reported.
This comes as the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has allowed the reopening of schools for students in class 6 and above along with colleges and other educational institutions in Delhi-NCR with immediate effect.
“Physical classes for students up to class 5 can begin from December 27,” the Centre’s pollution control body stated, as reported by news agency PTI.

Earlier this week, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai informed that the Environment department had received an application from the education department to open schools, colleges, and institutes for classes 6 and over immediately, and for primary students after December 20.
These proposals were sent to CAQM for approval as per the Supreme Court’s directions.
The Commission also mentioned that it received a large number of representations, arguing the “compelling necessity” to open the schools and educational institutions.
Schools in Delhi reopened on November 29 for all classes, however, they were closed again from December 3 due to air pollution levels in the national capital.
The decision came as Supreme Court had pulled up the Delhi government for opening schools amid the rising air pollution levels in the city.
“When the government implemented work from home for adults then why children are being forced to go to school,” the SC had asked the Delhi government, as reported by ANI.
