The Directorate of Education, Delhi has released the schedule for General Category admissions in Private Schools for Nursery, KG, and Class 1. The application process will begin on November 23, 2023. Interested applicants will have time until December 15, 2023, to submit their admission forms for these classes. The first admission list will be published on January 12, 2024. It's important to note that all private unaided recognised schools that admit students at the pre-school, pre-primary, and/or Class 1 levels are mandated to allocate 25% of their seats for students from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)/Disadvantaged Group (DG) category.

The schools have been instructed to upload their admission criteria on the Directorate's website, edudel.nic.in, by November 20, 2023. "Thus schools may ensure that the information uploaded on this Directorate's website is accurate and corresponds in totality with the information on their own website," reads the official notice.

Delhi Nursery Admissions 2024 Eligibility Criteria

According to the eligibility criteria, children should be 3 years old for pre-school, 4 years old for pre-primary, and 5 years old for class 1 admissions as of March 31st. The official notice further states, "Age relaxation for admission of up to 30 days may be granted at the level of the head of school in the minimum and upper-age limits for these classes."

Following the release of the first admission list on January 12, 2024, schools will address parental queries from January 13 to January 22, 2023. The notification specifies that parents seeking age relaxation can approach the head of the school or principal and submit a manual application for consideration.

Is Buying A Prospectus Mandatory For Admission?

No, it is not mandatory to purchase a prospectus along with an admission form. Parents will only be charged a registration fee of Rs 25.
