CBSE Warns Against Rumours And Fake Information On Ongoing Board Exams

The CBSE has warned students to remain vigilant against false information and rumours during the ongoing CBSE exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education has released an important notice for students. CBSE warns students against rumours and fake information about ongoing CBSE Exams.

“The CBSE class 10 and 22 have commenced for this year and will continue till April 5, 2023. The Board has made elaborate arrangements for smooth and fair conduct of examinations.” CBSE said in a notice.

“It has come to the notice of the Board that certain unscrupulous elements are regularly spreading rumours on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms about paper leak or claiming to have access to question papers of 2023 exams. These persons, groups and agencies intend to fleece the gullible students and parents as they demand money in return. Such irresponsible activities create confusion and panic among the students and public.” the notice reads.

“The Board is vigilant and active in identifying and taking action against those spreading fake news and rumours” the notice added.

CBSE said that they are regularly intimating Delhi Police Special Cell (MAC) to take stern action against persons involved in circulating fake news using social media platforms under various provisions of IPC and IT Act.

“CBSE will take action against a student under UNFAIR MEANS rules and various sections of IPC if found indulging in spreading fake news. Parents are also requested to guide their wards not to believe such rumours and not indulge in any such activity which hampers the smooth conduct of Board examinations.” CBSE added.

The Board has alerted against such unverified news and rumours during the ongoing exams and further requested not to participate in such activities or spread such information through any form of communication to maintain the sanctity of examinations at all cost.

This year, over 38 lakh students have registered for the exam. For the CBSE Class 10, approximately 21,86,940 will appear for the exam out of which 9,39,566 are female and 12,47,364 are male candidates.
