CBSE Sends Wrong Answer Key For Hindi Paper To Schools, Rectifies After Complaint

It was then found out that the answer key for the Hindi paper sent by CBSE, based on which the teachers were checking the paper, was wrong.

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education, changing the exam pattern, has issued the code of conduct for the examinations to be held in two parts. As per the code of conduct, term one paper (objective) is going on and term two (subjective) will be conducted in March as usual.

As per the new rules, the objective papers are supposed to be checked on the same day they are conducted. During the checking of one such paper, an error came to light. During the checking of class X Hindi term one paper, a teacher noticed a discrepancy.

What Was The Case

According to The Times News Network, a school teacher in Delhi, while checking the Hindi paper, found it unusual to see so many students performing poorly in the exam, and thought there might be some mistake. It was then found out that the answer key for the Hindi paper sent by CBSE, based on which the teachers were checking the paper, was wrong.

Increased Marks

When the Hindi paper was being checked on the basis of the wrong answer key, students were getting 11 out of 40 marks and a maximum of 15 marks. When the teacher noticed that the maximum marks in the entire bundle were just 15, the teacher had some doubts. By then, the coordinator also informed them that the answer key was wrong and a correct one was provided.

After getting the new answer, the marks of the students increased and those who had 11 marks out of 40 got as much as 39 marks out of 40.

Re-evaluation

When the problem of the answer key came to light, the teachers rechecked the copies and gave correct marks to the students. There has been no response from CBSE in this regard so far.
