CBSE Calls Class 10, 12 Board Exam Paper Leak Claim 'Baseless', Urges To Trust Cbse.gov.in For Info

The Board has also urged parents to advise their children against engaging with or believing in such unverified information, as it leads to disruption in the examination process.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday issued a public notice regarding misinformation about the integrity of the ongoing Board Examinations for Class X and XII, which began on Saturday. The Board rubbished rumours pertaining to paper leaks being spread on social media platforms, stressing that these claims are "baseless" and intended to create panic amongst students and parents.

"Board examinations for Classes X and XII have commenced and will continue until April 4. The Board has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations," the notice read.

"It has come to the Board's attention that certain unscrupulous elements are spreading rumours on social media platforms YouTube, Facebook and X regarding paper leaks or claiming to have access to the question papers for 2025. These claims are baseless and are intended to create unnecessary panic among students and parents," CBSE said.

The notice further stated that the CBSE is actively monitoring and taking action against those involved in spreading the misinformation. It added that the students who are found to be involved in this will be punished under relevant sections of IPC and CBSE's unfair means rules to uphold the integrity of the examination process.

"The Board is working closely with law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute these offenders. Students found involved in such activities will face consequences under CBSE's UNFAIR MEANS rules and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)," the alert read.

The Board has also urged parents to advise their children against engaging with or believing in such unverified information, as it leads to disruption in the examination process.

"All stakeholders, including students, parents and schools should rely only on official communications from CBSE available on the website (www.cbse.gov.in) and verified public channels for accurate updates," it said.

The public has been advised by the CBSE to be cautious of unverified news during the ongoing examinations and warned of legal action against anyone responsible for spreading misinformation.

CBSE's Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj on Saturday told news agency PTI that CBSE Class X and XII students began their board examinations 2025 with English and entrepreneurship papers, adding that the exams were conducted smoothly across the country in a conducive environment.

"For class 10, the exams took place at over 7,780 centres, with approximately 23,86,000 students appearing. Meanwhile, the class 12 exams were held at 995 centres, with nearly 23,000 students participating," Bhardwaj said.
