CBSE Class 9, 11 Exam Guidelines: School Asked To Conduct Final Exams Offline, New Session To Begin On This Date

This circular regarding examinations for Classes 9 and 11 has been released after date sheets of Class 10 and 12 board exam was announced. 

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released a circular on Thursday wherein it advised schools to conduct the final examinations of Classes 9 and 11 offline by following Covid-19 norms. CBSE has asked schools to follow all the bylaws to hold examinations. It further advised beginning the new academic session from April 1, 2021.

This circular regarding examinations for Classes 9 and 11 has been released after date sheets of Class 10 and 12 board exams were announced. 

“The schools should be fully geared up and prepared to welcome the students for face to face classes,” the circular read as the board suggested that this would help students to give practicals and prepare for theory exams as well. “They can improve their writing skills and resolve doubts,” it adds.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal had earlier reasoned that exams are being held offline so that students who do not have the required setup for it, do not end up facing a great disadvantage. Even for online classes, students had teachers had reported facing technical problems.

Classroom studies were resumed from Class 9 to 12 in several states ahead of the final exams to be conducted in May, to begin focused preparation and tests for students.
