The board had decided to divide the exam into two phases due to the covid-19 pandemic. This year due to the deadly second wave of Covid-19 the exams had to be cancelled and the CBSE wants to avoid such a situation again.

Here's what we know so far:

  • The term 2 exams will be held between March and April 2022 and Term 1 exam will be conducted in a flexible schedule slated for a period of 4-8 weeks.
  • Schools will also have to conduct the practicals for Term 1 and there may not be any external examiner for the exams.
  • Each term will include 50 percent of the rationalised syllabus. Students can download the revised syllabus from the board's academic website. The revised syllabus of CBSE Class 10th and 12th includes a list of chapters they need to study board exams.
  • The question papers in the CBSE term 1 board exam will have multiple-choice questions (MCQ), including case-based MCQs and Assertion-reasoning MCQs.
  • The duration of the examination will be 90 minutes.
  • Students preparing for board exams can also download sample question papers from the official website to get an idea about the new exam pattern.
