New Delhi: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) seems to be giving a hard time to thousands of students in the state by delaying the release of final results of BPSC Assistant Engineering Civil Examination held almost a year ago in March 2019. The BPSC Assistant Engineer Civil Mains Examination was conducted by the Bihar Service Commission between March 26 to March 31, 2019 and ever since results for the same are awaited. The dry spell continues as the Central government has imposed a nationwide lockdown on the backdrop of Coronavirus outbreak, but years of long wait has made aspirants agitated and thousands of them are now taking to social media to express their anger over the delay with several urging state and central authorities to take cognizance of the matter. Timeline Of BPSC AE Civil Mains Examination 2017 Delay: As per the records available, BPSC announced vacancy for Assistant Engineer post back on March 7, 2017 after a gap of six long years. After a delay of more than a year, the state service commission conduced Preliminary examinations for the AE posts on September 2018 and results for the same was announced on January, 2019 Thereafter, BPSC AE Civil Mains Examination were conducted between March 26 to March 31, 2019 and the results for the same were scheduled to declared in the third week of August, 2019. However, due to some error in paper checking and mismatch of answers, a group of 15 students filed a case in the High Court claiming that the answers given by BPSC in Answer Key were wrong. Ever since then, the matter became subjudice and BPSC AE Civil Main examination result has been delayed. Here are some tweets by students who have been shattered by the delay in results: While speaking to ABP News, a student said: "I am a 2014 pass out and belong to a middle class family. I have been facing years of unemployment. It has been more than 3 years since I applied for BPSC AE Exam and currently I am left with no other option. BPSC is not taking the issue seriously and thousands of students are affected by this." "Students waiting for months are getting frustrated and demotivated, even if BPSC gives employment to them after some time, what will these frustrated students be able to deliver," he asked. An estimated data suggest that over 10,000 students appeared for the BPSC AE Civil Main examination in 2019 and have been waiting for their results desperately. The BPSC, on several instances, released notification claiming that the results of the Mains examination will be declared soon, but students have seen no respite by the service commission over the years. Authorities in BPSC have even stated that the results for BPSC AE Civil Main examination have been prepared, but matter being in the High Court is delaying the release.
