CBSE Board Exams 2019: Scores of students of classes X and XII are appearing for one of the most defining exams of their school life. The Central Board of Secondary Education aka CBSE has released an alert today i.e. 27th February 2019 for students and parents to be wary of any fake or frivolous news or information doing rounds on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc. The board urged parents and students to not participate in the circulation of such fake news in their personal social circles. The country’s largest school education board also warned the peddlers of fake news to beware of action against them if any misleading information comes in the notice of CBSE. CBSE sent across a stern message today that reads “It has been noticed in the past that certain unscrupulous elements spread rumours by hosting fake videos/messages on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other Social Media platforms, obviously with the intention of spreading confusion and panic amongst students, parents, schools and public. Through this notice, persons involved in such activities are warned and advised to restrain themselves from such activities. In case, any such information comes to the notice of the CBSE, immediate necessary action as per provisions of the law will be taken by the CBSE.” CBSE also appealed the general public to extend full cooperation for smooth conduct of CBSE Board Exams 2019 “by not participating in the spreading of rumours/baseless information.” Back in August 2018, CBSE had issued a Public Advisory in which it stated, “It has come to notice of the Board that various Commercial Websites have created CBSE look-alike pages with the logo of CBSE on social networking sites for registration of candidates. This is creating confusion among the public.” “All the members of the public are, therefore, advised to visit CBSE official website http://www.cbse.nic.in for authentic and official information and prevent themselves from being cheated by the unscrupulous elements. Any information available or displayed other than CBSE website must be got verified from the official website of CBSE. The CBSE never asks for any details directly from the students through e-mail, facebook, twitter, phone or any other source” the Board had further clarified.
