Bihar School Reopening: Educational Institutes To Re-Open In Bihar From August 7 - Check Details

Bihar School Reopening: Schools, colleges, and institutes from classes 9 to 12 have been allowed to reopen in the state from August 7, 2021, while classes from 1 to 8 can commence from August 16.

Bihar School Reopening: Educational institutions in Bihar are now reopening gradually. The Bihar government has allowed schools, colleges, universities, and even coaching institutes from classes 9 to 12 to reopen in the state from August 7, 2021. According to the new order, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions will be allowed to work at 50% capacity. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also announced this through his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

All schools and colleges must follow SOP

Even though schools and colleges and other educational institutions have been allowed to reopen, the standard operating process (SOP) has been issued from Thursday i.e. today. All stakeholders are required to follow these SOPs to ensure the safety of all as well as follow COVID-19 suitable behavior. The Crisis Management Committee will assess the situation after which schools for Classes 1 to 8th are likely to be reopened in the state by August 16.

The Crisis Management Committee in its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has prepared some guidelines under 'Unlock 5', including re-opening of schools with 50 percent attendance of students above class IX from August 6

  • Schools for classes 9 to 12 will reopen with 50% attendance from 7 August 2021.
  • All colleges, universities, and technical education institutions will reopen and start operations at 50% of the total attendance capacity.
  • Schools from classes 1 to 8 will also reopen with 50% capacity from August 16, 2021.
  • Educational institutions to ensure proper cleanliness of the area and classrooms for the safety of all.
  • Online classes to continue Because attendance in offline classes has not yet been made mandatory as before.
  • Coaching institutes preparing students for competitive examinations related to courses above class 10 have also been allowed to reopen and operate at 50% capacity. However, only those students who have been vaccinated have been allowed to come to the institutions.
  • The order said- Kasturba Gandhi Balika Residential School and SC/ST Residential Schools and Karpuri Hostels will also be allowed to reopen and accept admissions.
  • With this, competitive examinations for appointment/admission/selection in various professional courses in the State will also resume. These are courses run by state government commissions, boards, and other equivalent institutions.
