AIIMS Delhi, Munich-Based University Collaborate For Medical And Life Sciences Research

AIIMS Delhi and Munich-based university, Klinikum der Universität München (LMU Klinikum), have joined forces to collaborate on research within the fields of medical and life sciences.

New Delhi: Munich-based university Klinikum der Universität München (LMU Klinikum) and AIIMS, Delhi have entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) to investigate potential collaborations within the fields of medicine and life sciences. This MoU serves as the foundation for prospective joint initiatives aimed at advancing research, education, and innovation in the domains of medical and healthcare, as reported by PTI. This collaboration between these two esteemed institutions signifies a commitment to mutual cooperation in furthering scientific and medical knowledge for the benefit of society.

LMU Klinikum and AIIMS have established a partnership with the shared goal of fostering academic and scientific exchanges, the statement issued by AIIMS said.

Both institutions are renowned for their contributions to healthcare and medical research and this MoU marks the beginning of a promising collaboration, it said.

"LMU Klinikum and AIIMS will explore various areas of collaboration, including joint research initiatives, educational exchanges involving students and faculty in the fields of medicine and life sciences, and the possibility of conducting multi-centre clinical trials, delving into digital medicine, and harnessing artificial intelligence for medical advancements. Specific research collaborations will be formalised through separate written agreements," the statement said.

The signing of this MoU facilitates open and constructive discussions to advance research, enhance teaching and learning, and promote developments in the healthcare domain. It paves the way for fruitful collaboration between the two institutions, fostering opportunities for innovation and progress that will ultimately contribute to the advancement of healthcare and medical education.

"In signing this MoU, LMU Klinikum and AIIMS affirm their dedication to advancing medical knowledge, patient care and healthcare innovation through international collaboration.

"This agreement lays the foundation for future initiatives that will benefit both institutions and contribute to the global healthcare community," said Dr Rima Dada, professor in-charge of AIIMS' Media Cell.
