After Unacademy’s Karan Sangwan, Another Tutor Asks Students To Vote For ‘Educated People’

A tutor of ICS Coaching Centre is seen asking students to vote for educated people since elected representatives are responsible for education, employment and other things.

After the recent Unacademy row in which a tutor of the ed-tech platform allegedly asked students to vote for “educated candidates”, another video of a tutor sharing similar views among students during an online class session has caught the internet’s attention. In a fresh video going viral on social media, a tutor from a different online education platform called ICS Coaching Centre, which also has a YouTube channel named ICA A to Z, the tutor, ‘Babita Madam,’ is see urging students to vote for educated people since they would be responsible and in-charge of things for the next five years.

“The first priority for you when you go out to vote, is to consider the fact that whom to vote for. In the next five years, the control of jobs and vacancies, the standard of education in schools and colleges shall be handed over to the ones you bring into power. Therefore it is important to ensure that educated people are voted for and brought to power. However, whom to vote for is a tough decision to make, all are the same, Babita ma’am is seen saying in the viral video clip.

"The BJP took charge of the country in 2014, and with 2024 inching closer, they will bring the same old issues into debate like the Boforce and Ram Mandir, and ones related to religion. All the political parties will start blaming each other and exposing each other's corruption. None of the leaders would say that bring me to power and I shall enhance the quality of schools, colleges and hospitals,” she further added.

Notably, in a similar incident recently, Karan Sangwan, a former tutor of the ed-tech firm Unacademy sparked debates with his controversial statement to students during an online class. In the viral video that was widely circulated on social media, the tutor was seen asking students to vote for ‘educated people.’ The ed-tech firm later sacked the tutor, who has now started his own YouTube channel.

Defending the sacking, Unacademy co-founder Roman Saini said Sangwan’s remark was in breach of contract and, therefore, the company had to part ways with him. “To do this we have in place a strict Code of Conduct for all our educators with the intention of ensuring that our learners have access to unbiased knowledge,” Saini said on X (formerly Twitter).
