5-Year Work Visa For Indian Students Pursuing Masters In France: PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a five-year post-study work visa for Indian students doing masters in France.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant announcement on Thursday that Indian students enrolled in master's degree programs in France will now be eligible for an extended post-study visa of five years. Earlier, it was a two-year work visa for Indian students doing masters in France. During his address to the Indian community at LA Seine Musicale in Paris, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the aforementioned announcement regarding the five-year post-study visa for Indian students pursuing a master's degree in France. 

Addressing the Indian community at La Seine Musicale in Paris, the prime minister said, “The last time I came to France, it was decided that Indian students studying in France would be given a 2-year post-study work visa. Now, it has been decided that Indian students pursuing Masters in France will be given long-term post-study visa of 5 years.”

“An agreement has been made for the use of India's UPI...It will be started from the Eiffel Tower, and now Indian tourists would be able to make payments in Rupees, through UPI, in Eiffel Tower,” PM Modi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his two-day official visit to Paris on Thursday, where he received a ceremonial welcome at the airport. French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne greeted him upon his arrival. PM Modi expressed that his visit held a special significance as France was celebrating its National Day, and he extended his congratulations to the people on this occasion.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by French President Emmanuel Macron, participated in the National Day Parade of France, which he described as a testament to the enduring friendship between India and France. In his address, PM Modi also praised India's remarkable progress in the field of Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
