Rain Lashes Parts Of Delhi As National Capital Battles Flooding — WATCH
The weather department has issued a 'yellow' alert for rains in the national capital. The rains could contribute to a rise in the water levels of the Yamuna, which has been flowing above the danger mark.
Rain lashed parts of the national capital on Saturday and visuals of the downpour surfaced from Raj Ghat. The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius earlier today with the prediction of moderate rain, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather department issued a 'yellow' alert for rains in the national capital battling unprecedented flooding due to the Yamuna River breaching its banks after days of heavy rains in the upper catchment areas.

A 'yellow' alert denotes bad weather conditions which might change for the worse, disrupting daily activities.
The rains could contribute to a rise in the water levels of the Yamuna, which has been flowing above the danger mark of 205.33 metres for days now.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday held a Cabinet meeting and tasked ministers at six flood-affected districts to ensure proper facilities at relief camps set up by the AAP government.
Orders will be issued shortly to officers to report, and coordinate and cooperate with ministers to ensure proper facilities such as food, water, toilets and electricity at flood relief camps, Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control Saurabh Bharadwaj said, as reported by news agency PTI.
He informed that PWD Minister Atishi will look after facilities at camps in the North East Delhi district, while Gopal Rai has been deputed for Shahdara, Kailash Gahlot for South East Delhi and Imran Hussain for the Central Delhi district.
Bharadwaj will look after the camps in the East Delhi district.
Several roads in the national capital that were closed for traffic movement reopened on Saturday as the Yamuna floodwaters receded from the roads.
However, traffic regulations are still in effect on some key road stretches. As per an advisory issued by the traffic police on Saturday, Yamuna’s water level dropped to 207.67 metres at 8 am on Saturday, reducing the water level on roads.
The entry of heavy goods vehicles has been banned from Singhu Border, Tikri Border, Rajokari Border, Badarpur Border, Chilla Border, Gazipur Border, Loni Border, Apsara Border and Bhopura Border. However, vehicles carrying essential commodities or services and relief materials have been exempted.
