MEA Dy Secretary's Official Laptop, Diplomatic Passport Stolen In Delhi After Robber Breaks Car Window

When he returned to his car after calling a PCR van to help the unconscious person, he found one of the window panes of his car broken and belongings missing.

Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs lost his valuables, including his official laptop and diplomatic passport in a robbery incident on Tuesday. According to news agency ANI, the theft incident occurred at Aurobindo Marg (INA Market) towards South Extension at around 6.30 pm, while the official was trying to help a man that fell unconscious on the road.

'A theft incident occurred with MEA's Deputy Secretary (Legal Officer) as he tried to help an unconscious person lying on Aurobindo Marg (INA Market) towards South Extension at around 6.30 pm on March 27 where he called the PCR van that took the unconscious person," said the Delhi Police as reported by news agency ANI.

When he returned to his car after calling a PCR van, he found one of the window panes broken and his belongings missing. Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway. A laptop, two mobile phones and diplomatic passport, official IDs, bank cards, 20 Euros and Rs 7,000 cash were stolen by the "Thak Thak Gang".

"Upon returning to his car he found that car's window pane was broken & an official Laptop with Laptop Bag, two mobile phones and diplomatic passport, official IDs, bank cards, 20 Euros and Rs 7,000 cash were stolen. Case filed, Probe on, said the Delhi Police.

A case under sections 379 and 427 IPC has been registered at Kotla Mubarakpur police station of the National Capital. Efforts are being made to apprehend the accused persons.
