Delhi Court Allows AAP MP Sanjay Singh To Appear Before Parliament Privilege Committee
AAP MP Sanjay Singh was produced before Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court today at the end of his judicial custody, in connection with the Excise policy money laundering case.
In a recent development, a Delhi court on Monday extended the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Parliament, Sanjay Singh, until December 21. The extension comes in the context of Singh's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with its money laundering investigation into the Delhi excise policy case, as reported by ANI. The court has scheduled a hearing on Singh's bail application for Tuesday at 2 pm.
The Rouse Avenue court has granted permission for Sanjay Singh to appear before the Privilege committee of Parliament to present his submissions in matters related to the breach of privilege. The committee had directed Singh to appear on October 5, but his arrest on October 4 disrupted these plans.
During his judicial custody, Singh will not be allowed to meet his colleagues, supporters, or media persons.

Currently held in Delhi's Tihar jail since his arrest on October 4, Singh faces allegations from the Enforcement Directorate. The agency asserts that Singh was involved in a conspiracy to collect funds from liquor groups under the now-defunct Delhi excise policy. The ED presented information to the court claiming Singh's alleged proximity to Dinesh Arora, an approver in the case, who accused Amit Arora.
The analysis of call detail records has revealed regular communication between Dinesh Arora and Sanjay Singh, reinforcing the allegations. The ED previously stated that Singh had allegedly received proceeds amounting to ₹2 crore from the criminal activities.
On December 9, Sanjay Singh's counsel urged the court to release him, arguing that no purpose would be served by prolonging his custody. "The ED has already filed its charge sheet against me after the completion of the investigation. I'm not required for further custodial interrogation. There is no purpose to keep me in further custody," stated the AAP leader's counsel, as reported by PTI.
