'Met After 103 Days, Yet Cops At Door': Manish Sisodia's Wife Pens Emotional Letter After Meeting Him

Last week, the Delhi High Court permitted Manish Sisodia to meet his ailing wife at their residence, with the condition that he refrain from interacting with anyone except his family members.

Seema Sisodia, the ailing wife of incarcerated AAP leader Manish Sisodia, expressed her disappointment at the Central government on Wednesday, saying that police officers had been stationed outside their bedroom to monitor their conversation. She said that she had met her husband after a prolonged gap of 103 days for only seven hours, yet the police were stationed to overhear them.

In a message shared on social media, Seema disclosed that the police had positioned themselves outside their bedroom for the entire seven-hour interaction, meticulously listening to every word they exchanged. She also acknowledged the challenges and sacrifices associated with the realm of politics, referring to it as a "dirty game."

Manish Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26 in connection with his alleged involvement in the excise policy scam. He has remained in custody ever since, with his bail plea in the CBI case being rejected by the High Court on May 30. Additionally, he was arrested on March 9 in a case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and is presently in judicial custody.

Reflecting on the initial warnings they received from well-wishers cautioning them against entering politics, Seema Sisodia emphasized her husband's unwavering determination to join forces with AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and like-minded individuals. “Back when these people were in the process of forming the party, we received numerous warnings from well-wishers advising us to steer clear of politics. They cautioned us that while journalism and activism were good pursuits, getting entangled in the world of politics would only lead to trouble. Those in power would do everything in their capacity to obstruct our work and torment our family.  However, Manish was resolute. He joined forces with Arvind Ji and other like-minded individuals, and together, they proved that they could make a difference. Their political endeavours forced influential figures to address critical issues such as education, healthcare, electricity and water,” she said in her message in Hindi.

Seema suffers from the autoimmune disorder, 'multiple sclerosis'. She highlighted Manish Sisodia's resilience and dedication during their meeting. "Today, I witnessed that same unwavering determination etched on Manish's face and evident in his words. Despite enduring 103 days of sleeping on the floor, plagued by mosquitoes, ants, insects, and scorching heat, he remains undeterred with the dream gleaming in his eyes — to uplift society through education and champion honest politics alongside Arvind Kejriwal. Regardless of the hardships and conspiracies that may arise, his commitment remains unshakable,” she said.

Seema also mentioned that over the past three months, Manish had immersed himself in studying the history of education worldwide, exploring the stories of leaders from various nations who have dedicated themselves to the cause of education. During their meeting, he delved into topics such as education in Japan, China, Singapore, Israel, and America, alongside discussing her health.

She added a powerful message, stating that those conspiring against Arvind and Manish may rejoice in having imprisoned one of Arvind's soldiers. However, what they fail to see is that within the confines of Tihar Jail, the vision of an educated and prosperous India in 2047 is being woven with unwavering strength in a corner. Honesty and a commitment to educational reform will undoubtedly triumph over falsehoods and conspiracies," her message read.

Last week, the Delhi High Court permitted the incarcerated AAP leader to meet his ailing wife at their residence, with the condition that he refrain from interacting with the media or anyone else except his family members and abstain from accessing phones or the internet.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal became emotional as he remembered his former deputy while inaugurating a new branch of the B R Ambedkar School of Specialised Excellence in Bawana. Kejriwal expressed his longing for Manish Sisodia, noting that Sisodia had initiated the endeavor to provide quality education to all. He criticized the false charges against Sisodia and his unjust imprisonment, assuring that Sisodia would be granted bail in the near future.
