Delhi LG Orders Chief Secy To Recover Rs 97 Cr From AAP Used For 'Political Ads'

The LG asked AAP to pay for the political advertisements it published as the government ads

In yet another conflict between the Delhi Governor and the AAP government in the national capital, LG Vinay Kumar Saxena has directed Chief Secretary to recover Rs 97 crore from the Aam Aadmi Party for the political advertisements it published as government ads.

The order comes in the wake of Supreme Court orders of 2015, Delhi HC order of 2016, and CCRGA’s order of 2016, being violated by the AAP government, reported ANI.

Delhi LG Vs AAP Govt: An Eternal Fight

The fight between the Delhi LG and the incumbent AAP government is not new and has been since the time of former LG Anil Baijal. The two keep on accusing each other of hindering the functioning of the legislature.

Earlier in Septemeber, Delhi deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said he was "fallaciously defamed" after his name not included in the first chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. Sisodia said BJP cooked up the story of liquor scam and raided his residence, ANI reported.

Demanding the resignation of Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, Sisodia said, "It is clear from the CBI chargesheet that Manish Sisodia was fallaciously defamed. BJP made a false report against Delhi govt through LG and CS. CBI has given a clean-chit to Manish Sisodia."
