Delhi CM Kejriwal Leads First AAP Roadshow Post Bail, Says ‘I.N.D.I.A. Govt Will Be Formed On June 4’

Arvind Kejriwal held his first roadshow after being released from Tihar jail. He criticised the BJP government, calling it a dictatorship. He also predicted that the BJP would not win the Lok Sabha elections.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday held his first roadshow after coming out from Tihar jail on interim bail.  He participated in a roadshow in Mehrauli along with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann. Kejriwal, vocal and resolute, addressed the crowds, lambasting the BJP-led central government and vowing to challenge what he termed "dictatorship" during his campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.

Reflecting on his recent incarceration, Kejriwal expressed dismay at his treatment, stating, "They arrested me. I used to wonder what was my fault... They, however, are very powerful... When they arrested me, I was wondering what my mistake was. My fault is that I have built good schools and hospitals for the people of Delhi." He further alleged the unavailability of insulin during his time in jail, underscoring the alleged mistreatment he endured while being a diabetes patient.

"It has been 20 hours since I came out of jail. I have talked to many people on the phone. Everyone is saying that BJP is not getting the majority, their seats are decreasing in Haryana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Bihar, and UP. They will be wiped out in Punjab and Delhi. Modi government is not being formed on June 4, INDIA alliance government will be formed on June 4 and Aam Aadmi Party will be part of that government..." he claimed.

The Delhi CM launched scathing criticism at the BJP government, asserting, "They want to shut everything to paralyse the Delhi government... This is dictatorship." Kejriwal rallied for public support in his fight against what he perceives as authoritarianism, declaring, "And the common people have to fight against this dictatorship. I am fighting against this dictatorship, but I need your support."

In a bold prediction, Kejriwal declared that the BJP would not secure victory on June 4, confidently asserting the rise of the "INDIA bloc." He pledged full statehood for Delhi if the alliance assumes power, amid promises of transformative change for the nation's future.

The Supreme Court granted interim bail until June 1 to the AAP national convenor in a money laundering case associated with the purported Delhi excise policy scam.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Minister & AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said, "Today is the first roadshow of Arvind Kejriwal after coming back from jail... People are coming out in mass to support him and to give their love to him", reported ANI.

This is the CM Kejriwal's first roadshow after walking out of Tihar Jail on Friday. The chief minister, who arrived at his Civil Lines residence around 8:20 pm following his release, announced his participation in a roadshow scheduled in South Delhi.

Standing through the sunroof of his vehicle, CM Kejriwal told reporters to join the event alongside Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

The AAP chief was released from Tihar Jail after spending 50 days in custody in connection with the money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate linked to the now-defunct Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.

AAP has nominated Sahi Ram Pahalwan as its candidate for the South Delhi parliamentary constituency. Under a seat-sharing arrangement between the Congress and the AAP, the former has fielded candidates from three Lok Sabha seats in Delhi while the latter is contesting from the remaining four.
