Caught On Camera: Speeding Car Runs Over 3 Children In Delhi's Gulabi Bagh Area

The out-of-control car is seen on CCTV running over the children on the footpath before coming to a stop. Locals are also seen in the video bashing the driver as he departs the automobile.

After losing control of the vehicle, a car ran over three children standing on a footpath in Delhi's Gulabi Bagh area. While two children are safe, one is thought to be in critical condition, news agency ANI reported by posting video footage of the same on Twitter.

The incident occurred at 9 am on Sunday and was recorded by a CCTV camera installed across the street, according to the video.

The CCTV footage shows the out-of-control automobile running over the children on the sidewalk before coming to a halt at a safe distance. Locals are also seen bashing the driver when he exits the car in the footage.

The 30-year-old driver is said to be a Pratap Nagar resident. He lost control of his vehicle near the school and crushed the children beneath it, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi.

According to the DCP, two children, ages 10 and four, are safe, while a six-year-old is being monitored.

The driver has been arrested by the police.

Another road accident was reported by the news agency ANI in the early hours of Sunday in Haryana. Due to fog, at least seven vehicles collided near Aurangabad village in Yamunanagar early today. The injured people were admitted to the hospital.

"10-15 vehicles may have collided but we can 7-8 here. I appeal to people to drive slowly as it's foggy these days," the police official was quoted as saying by ANI.

According to the ministry of roads, transport, and highways' report on road accidents 2020, weather conditions affect road surface condition and motorist visibility, increasing the likelihood of mishaps. Adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rain, thick fog, and hail storms, make driving more dangerous since visibility decreases and the road surface becomes slick.

However, according to the same report, about 3/4 of all vehicle incidents in 2020 occurred during sunny/clear weather. Accidents caused by inclement weather, such as rain, fog, and hail/sleet, accounted for only 18.4% of total traffic accidents in 2020.
