A day after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court till June 1, the Aam Aadmi Party chief along with his wife Sunita Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, visited the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place on Saturday to offer prayers before kicking off the Lok Sabha polls campaigning in the capital today. 










Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi, who was at the temple premises before the Delhi CM came, said: "...Yesterday, after walking out of the jail, Arvind Kejriwal said that he would come here to Hanuman Temple to seek his blessings. Today, he coming here with his family & other party leaders. Some days ago Sunita Kejriwal came to the Hanuman Temple & said that she hoped she would come here with Arvind Kejriwal here soon..."






Delhi Minister and AAP's Saurabh Bhardwaj, called the interim bail a "miracle" and added: "When Arvind Kejriwal was put behind bars in a false case, Sunita Kejriwal had said that she would come to here to the Hanuman Temple with Arvind Kejriwal...He got bail in 50 days in the PMLA court which is a miracle & can happen with the blessings of Hanuman ji..."









Ahead of his visit, elaborate security arrangements were made by Police outside Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place today.







The AAP chief walked out of the Tihar Jail after spending 50 days under custody in connection with the money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate in the now scrapped Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.


Delhi CM To Hold Roadshow In South Delhi Today


After offering prayers at the temple, the Delhi CM will hold a roadshow in South Delhi alongside his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann. The Punjab CM also met Arvind Kejriwal on May 10, after he was granted interim bail.


As the decision was announced, Mann departed for Delhi and arrived at the Tihar jail to meet the AAP supremo. He also thanked the apex court for the decision and added that the Aam Aadmi Party’s commitment to safeguard democracy would intensify now.

Though a temporary relief, the decision by the Supreme Court will enable the Delhi CM to campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.


Supreme Court Asks Arvind Kejriwal To Surrender On June 2


The Delhi CM has been asked by the Supreme Court to surrender on June 2, after the campaigning ends on June 1.


While granting bail, the apex court laid down five conditions, including, a Rs 50,000 personal bond, no comments on his involvement in the case, no interaction with any witnesses of the case. Besides these, Arvind Kejriwal is also prohibited from visiting the CM's office and Delhi Secretariat and signing any official files unless deemed necessary, the approval of which will be granted by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.
