3 Men Stripped Naked In Delhi, Beaten By Mob On Allegation Of Mobile Theft: Police
According to a police officer, the crowd did not turn up the three males to the police.
Three men were stripped naked and assaulted by a crowd on Saturday afternoon in the Narela district of here for allegedly stealing mobile phones, according to the police, news agency PTI reported. After a video of the event circulated on social media, police launched an investigation and a case was filed. The footage apparently shows the crowd violently stripping and slapping three males in their early twenties. The video also showed other individuals burning the three men's garments on the spot.
According to a police officer, the crowd did not turn up the three males to the police.
"It appears that after being assaulted and humiliated the three men fled," the officer said adding that the police got a call on Saturday afternoon from the scene of the incident, but nothing was discovered when a team of authorities visited the area.

According to an officer, the case was filed based on the allegation of the caller, who was later located. He called police at 11.56 p.m., but he departed before police arrived.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer-North) Ravi Kumar Singh stated that no complaint was initially received.
When the caller was located, he informed police that he had gone to the Narela train station to see off his sister and on his way back observed a crowd beating up the three guys accused of stealing cell phones, according to the DCP.
Singh further stated that the police were investigating if the trio was apprehended while stealing cell phones.
According to the police, a case under IPC sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and 355 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour person, otherwise than on grave provocation) has been filed and efforts were being made to trace the victims.
