Telangana Man Kills Wife For 'Refusing To Cook Mutton Curry'

The accused Balu reportedly brought mutton and insisted his wife Kalavati to cook. However, when she said she would cook it the next morning, an argument broke out.

A domestic argument over cooking mutton escalated into a murder in Upparagudem village of Seerole mandal, Mahabubabad district. A man allegedly killed his wife for refusing to cook the dish late on Tuesday night. The victim, identified as Maloth Kalavati (35), was reportedly attacked by her husband, Balu.

The crime

According to Kalavati’s mother, Balu had purchased the meat and insisted that it be prepared immediately. When Kalavati said she would cook it the next morning, an argument broke out, during which Balu allegedly struck her with a wooden stick, reported The New Indian Express. She sustained a severe head injury and died on the spot.

Local authorities were alerted to the incident, and police have launched an investigation. The accused is currently under scrutiny as officials work to confirm details of the crime.

The violent nature of the incident has left residents of Upparagudem in shock.

Man Cooks Wife's Body Parts

In a separate incident, a Hyderabad man was arrested a few months back for allegedly murdering his wife and attempting to dispose of her body by dismembering it and boiling the remains in a pressure cooker.

The accused, Guru Murthy, a former soldier currently employed as a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), reportedly confessed to the gruesome act. However, police are still verifying his claims.

The victim’s identity has not been officially disclosed, but preliminary investigations suggest that the crime stemmed from a domestic dispute.

In another incident last year, a man killed his live-in partner for not cooking egg gravy in Gurugram. The woman was reportedly found dead in an under-construction house in Chauma village.

The man confessed to beating the woman with a hammer and belt under the influence of alcohol after she refused to make it.  The issue, however, came light to light after the caretaker of the building spotted the body of the woman and informed the police.
